Advent

Advent is a time of remembrance and anticipation of the coming of Christ Jesus. We remember a time when the people of God were waiting for the coming of Messiah, Jesus who entered the world as a baby both fully human and fully divine. The hope they experienced as the Prince of Peace was born as the angels rejoiced that true love had entered the world. We too beloved await the coming, the second coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ who is coming again to bring everlasting hope, peace, joy and love as His light invades darkens and establishes a new Kingdom here on earth. So, we live our lives in remembrance and anticipation that because we are children of God we get to be hope, peace, joy, love and the light of Jesus to the world.

We get to be Jesus incarnate on the earth to others by sharing the themes of Advent. Each week as we will focus on a different theme of advent, we will share a story of how someone’s life has been renovated to bring hope, peace, joy, love and light to the world.

We will also present to you an Advent Trunk that is made by someone who has lived this particular theme. Someone who knows so intimately that Jesus is why they have this gift.
