BAPTISM – FAQ
How old do I need to be?
Generally baptism should be done when a person understands the basic foundations of their faith and is capable of sharing them.
“Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith will it be done to you” (Matthew 9:29)
What if I was baptized before?
Often this question only arises because an individual feels they have not walked according to their faith and have recently rededicated their lives to Him. The Bible doesn’t tell us how often to be baptized but that we should do everything in our faith sincerely. Being re-baptized to again publicly announce your future with Him could never be something viewed as wrong.
What if I was baptized as an infant?
We should never look down at being baptized as an infant. It was an act of faith by someone who loved us enough to bring us before God. The issue of public confession of a personal faith becomes the only challenge at infant baptism. We don’t believe being baptized again would negate your infant baptism but enhance it.
Who can baptize me?
The act of baptism is not restricted to just the clergy. In many cases it was the person who led the new believer to Christ. At CCF, we ask that it be a person where close accountability and discipleship for your spiritual growth is occurring.
